Open Water is the first collaborative effort by Berlin-based artist Katharina Schmidt and London-based musician and engineer Robert Soma-Lewis as Bauer. By freely interpreting and shaping raw materials presented to each other without context, the duo surface invocations of love, travel, and acceptance of the vulnerability we face when encountering the unknown. Created through an iterative editing process, the layers of "Open Water" build up a complex environment with a listening experience like staring out into an ocean of evolving texture
